Favorite Sons – 'Down Beside Your Beauty' review

Published on

Favourite Sons appear capable, but also quite dull and over-earnest, coming over like the more turgid end of Joy Divison crossed with Lou Reed on a comedown, all of which leaves Down Beside Your Beauty requiring a bit more variation and a lot more charisma. This record is a bit like a trip to McDonalds – reasonably enjoyable at the time, but, being ultimately unfulfilling and pretty forgettable, you can’t help thinking you could’ve been doing something better with your time.
