Justice – '†' review
† is the kind of thing that the Chemical Brothers mastered just before the turn of the millennium, before they got sensible haircuts and started dicking around with Richard Ashcroft – an album of commanding, swaggering tunes, full of warm, glitchy electro-squelch and perfectly timed stabs of disco strings.
Resisting the all-too-easy temptation to descend into techno-odyssey territory, † sounds fresh, fun and as cool as its Parisian origins throughout, and is the smack in the chops dance music has been waiting for all decade. Staggeringly good.
