Metro Riots – 'Night Time Angel Candy' review

Published on

In terms of rock iconography, for every Jesus & Mary Chain or Led Zep, there’s a Darkness, and a what a fine line it is between the two. Metro Riots seem hell-bent on walking exactly this line – their debut album is perfectly split between ridiculous mockney-voiced cock-rock and iconic leather-clad heroics. Without doubt, there’s a great deal to hate here, not least the frankly preposterous God Bless The Pharmacist, but suspend disbelief for forty minutes and your heart, if not your head, may just be won over.
