The Blood Arm – 'Lie Lover Lie' review
There are plenty of groups out there doing the arched, art-school, aren’t-we-witty type thing, and it would be futile to cover them all in these pages. However, when one of these groups is being championed by arched, art-school, aren’t-we-witty types Franz Ferdinand, it seems fair enough to give them a listen.
However, The Blood Arm’s famous fans are the only feature distinguishing them from the pack: their debut record sounds pleasingly enough like Ben Folds Five covering Franz, all grand pianos playing artrock rhythms, but there’s little substance to divert attention from the fact that you heard all this three years ago.
